My second home

I've had this tent for 5 years; because of my work I have to live out of this thing for up to 3 weeks. Last year it took a direct hit from flood waters on a burn scar, after generational rain, not a drop in this tent. It's been with me in extreme heat, sandstorms, snow, and rain; it has two holes that were easily patched.

Watch stakes. Bend easily and cords break

The stakes bend easily and the cord attached broke on two after attempting to pull. The stakes are light weight. Unless you are staking into mud I would look for another set of stakes.

I've been on the hunt for a lightweight yet comfortable tent, and I've found that there aren't many options out there that can beat this one. I particularly appreciate the MtnGlo feature, and I'd definitely opt for it again. While the material seems quite thin and potentially fragile, I haven't encountered any issues with it so far.

Incredible Product

I love this tent. I use it car camping with my coworkers and for backpacking. It feels too light to ever be durable, but it is able to brush off everything from car camping to desert windstorms. The mtnGLO is great, especially when you add other mtnGLO products for car camping. The worst part is the other light products use a different light than is built into the tent.

2nd copper spur but had to upgrade for our growing family

My wife and I met as backpacking guides and loved our 2 person copper spur tent. Now that we have a little guy joining us on our adventures we had to upgrade to the copper spur 3. Same wonderful tent with a little added room. Having the lights in the tent makes everything a lot more fun.

Seriously, just the best

First off, I'm 6' even and after the car accident my desire to be really comfortable when I'm camping skyrocketed. All that in mind, I went searching for a backpacking tent that would stand up to constant use, be easy enough to get in and out of that I wouldn't aggravate existing injuries, and be light enough for flying. I found it in this tent. the vestibules are perfect, the fly sits securely, and the lighting is just right. I love this tent.

Great Tent but LEDs are defective
Review athttps://bigagnes.com

I love this tent in all but 2 aspects: 1. The MTNGLO LED lighting was defective out of the package. Looks like there is a short in the wiring of the last 5 LEDs. I like the feature so this was a huge disappointment. What makes the matter worse is that my REI couldn't order a replacement since there are supply issues. Technically I still have a working tent, but a broken feature 2. The rainfly design is built such that when you open the rainfly and its wet or rainy, all the water thats hanging on the rainfly goes directly onto the footprint. This is the foot print that extents beyond the tent and has floor space under the "vestibules"s created by the rainfly. There is no way around this. It would be great if there was a way to keep that entry footprint dry.

Buy for the extra room without the extra weight

The 2 person version literally didn't fit 2 ExPed sleeping pads inside, the 3 person actually does. Let's face it, these companies aren't making realistic sizes to cut weight to look better on paper, but the reality is, 2 person won't fit 2 adults without overlapping the pads unless you SPECIFICALLY buy the Big Agnes pad and bag AND not actually able to look at each other because your head is at their feet. After days on the trail you do NOT want to be at your partners feet all night… this isn't to criticize Big Agnes, all the companies are doing this and it's silly. The "3 person" fits 2 people with pads nicely. The length is actually one of the best features, I'm only 5'9" and it's the only tent I can lay and not have my feet or head pressed against the walls. The new zipper design is problematic, this is fine maybe in the desert but if you camp near ants or ticks they tend to like zipper holes near the floor, also the single vestibule tie to the side should go the other way, toward the center zipper. Also the ties are way too short, you can barely lock the flaps with two hands. The whole system adds 2-3 extra steps that are unnecessary. I wish they would just hire me to improve their designs. That said the ceiling nets are fantastic!

Great late season tent
Review athttps://bigagnes.com

I used this tent in my late in the season hunts and on a high country mountain goat hunt where snow was a possibility. The extra durability but still surprisingly lightweight design was perfect for keeping the weight down on a backpacking trip and a way to be prepared for a snow or wind load. Very nice material and the Mnt. glow is a great feature to leave on all day so you can find your way back to the tent. The 3 person was a little nicer to fit 2 larger people in or one person with lots of gear.
