The Racebike of Trek was designed for use in on long tours. And that's exactly where it shines. The geometry is moderate and makes for a balanced handling. Due to the interplay of a relatively long top tube and a low stack, the riding position is sporty. On the downhill, however, the Trek Marlin 8 is left in the dust by its competitors. Heavy riders over 85 kilos aren't likely to encounter too many problems with the high weight of 14,29 kg. For lighter riders, this could be a disturbance.
