Product Description

store/product-description.title

Burris Optics combined state-of-the-art engineering with refinements for accuracy in the 1.5-8x28 XTR II Riflescope, which is optimized for tactical applications and competitive shooting and includes a 3-MOA FastFire 3 Red Dot Sight, a 34mm AR-P.E.P.R. Mount for the riflescope, and a 34mm Scope Tube FastFire Mount. The riflescope's optical system offers bright and clear images, with high contrast and true colors, thanks to the Hi-Lume indexed-matched multiple anti-reflection coatings and high quality optical glass. One of central features of the scope is the Ballistic 5.56 Gen 3 Reticle. It is a dual focal plane reticle that has a scaling of crosshair for ranging accuracy, a constant-size broken circle for easy short-to-long range transition, and trajectory compensation out to 1,000 yards. To compensate for wind and ballistics you have adjustable windage and elevation and a 1/10 mil impact point correction.

You can't go wrong wit this scope. the glass is super clear and illuminates extremely well. There are plenty off light settings to find the perfect level for whatever type of daylight or nightlight you encounter along with a hold position between every setting. Great product, very happy with my purchase.

Burris XTR II 1.5-8 combo leaked dust into scope.

Purchased this scope package to mount on a collectable semi auto tactical 5.56 nato calibered rifle in Dec 2015. Took rifle to the range 3 times since mounting scope on rifle of which only stationary target shooting from a bench was done, & once to a casual tactical shooting match in Aug 2017. Before the tactical match, I noticed dust particles inside the scope, but did not give it much thought as I thought is was just the lenses that got dirty. After match, I cleaned lenses with lens pen, & to my amazement, the dust was inside the scope tube itself on the inner lenses. It was only a couple small particles here & there, so was not a deal breaker to me. After the match I cleaned rifle & put it back in the safe until May 2018 when started preparing for a range day. When I picked up the rifle (which had scope caps on its entire life) the lenses was FULL of dust inside scope. It is so dusty inside scope that it makes the reticle look granulated. I then proceded to use a different rifle for the range day. I also then noticed the reticle illumination has since stopped working. I replaced battery with brand new duracell battery, but nothing. It occasionally goes on when turning the knob between the brightness settings, but then goes off again, & doesnt work until it accidentally makes contact again. I really had high hopes for this scope, & really hope I just had a dud. The FFP reticle on this scope is truely amazing, & the burris fastfire that came with the scope worked fantastic. Turrets are really nice, & tactile + tracks very well. Scope has never lost zero after zeroing the first time, so very happy with that. I will be returning scope to dealer & hope the next one is better. I really want to like this scope. Was not what I expected from a medium budget cqb scope after only light duty use.

Excited, FFP 3gun Scope

Been looking for an upgrade FFP scope after shooting long range with my Creedmoor, for my 3gun rifle. At first look and feel I thought it would be too heavy with the mount so that lead to a slight rebuild, new upper and lower. After thought it would have been fine on the original rifle. This is the real deal for getting out long distance, ease of use, and big eye relief. So happy with the product, as I own multiple Burris products.

I purchased my 1.5-8x28 a few months ago and have zero regrets. Mounted on my LWRC-DI it has gotten me to a less than 6" group. Easy to adjust. I have not had a need to use the illuminated reticle yet as I have had great light. WOW!

This scope does not disappoint! Extremely good glass and reticle. Slightly longer and heavier than some, but no issue with either.

I bought the Burris XTR-II 1.5-8x28 (CQMIL) Attached to my SIG SAUER 716 Best scope by far I've purchased and I put a lot of time and cash into many other optics the Just wouldn't fulfill my needs 1.)Close range and long Range optic( Using a 16" barrel 308 WIN) I needed the optic to have low magnification in order to complete short range capabilities but on the other hand I have a Larger Caliber than 5.56 so I need long range capabilities also,This scope performs both perfectly from 0-1000 yards I'm set! 2.)Needed Illumination! the awesome advantage the XTR-II has is DUAL FOCAL PLANE, and illumination settings from 0-11 its also horseshoe type reticle so on Low magnification its close to red dot capabilities but faster and Alot clearer! -High magnification it seems easier to hold on target than traditional cross-hairs and doesn't fatigue the Eye as much All magnification settings is great for low light conditions 3.)Quality Optic! robust and strong also has a zero stop type feature with fantastic Dials and using the Burris Calculator I Make data charts for the dials along with the reticle So no matter the Situation the BURRIS XTR Has me prepared for any situation Again thank you Burris For another great quality Optic Check out my other review on the Burris AR-332 I also used it on the SIG 716

Good package deal.Glass, features need improvement

I bought XTR II Ballistic 5.56 package, included mount and red dot. Good price for the package. Mounted on my AR 15 and took it out shooting twice. It works good for what it was designed for. So far I've noticed 3 things that need improvements. 1. Glass is not clear enough at and past 300 yards. 2. 1st/2nd plain reticles seamed like good idea, but maybe because the scope is parallax free, you have to keep eyes line-up with center of the scope, otherwise the illuminated 2nd plane reticle doesn't line-up with black 1st plane one. 3. It's good idea to have power interruptions on the illumination adjustment knob, but, unlike my 3-15 power XTR scope, when the illumination is switched off not at the end of the knob's rotation - you have to rotate it all the way back and then forward to switch the illumination on. To summarize - at this price range, the glass should be better and more attention should be paid to features' design and operation.

A bargain for what you get with this scope

I mounted this scope, actually the bundle with the Fast Fire III, onto my M1A Scout Squad on a Sadlak Airborne mount. Everything about the scope is spectacular, crystal clear, very precise adjustments, seems to be extremely rugged. The only complaint if there is one is that it's heavy and I put it on an alreasy very heavy gun. I decided on the 5.56 reticle even though I have a .308, out to 700 yards all the marks are close enough of you zero 1" high at 100 and the dope for adjusting beyond that are provided by Burris. Very nice high quality product! PS: Be careful with the battery cover on the Fast Fire, you can cross thread it if you're not careful.

Good Idea bad overall for the price

Purchased looking for a little extra magnification for my AR-10 used in Heavy Metal. Chose the XTR II - Ballistic CQ Mil. The concept for dual focal plane(s) seems a good idea with illumination when you need otherwise the black. Truth is you can't see the center dot non illuminated (it's super small) unless you turn up the magnification, at no more than 100 yards on a light colored background. Unless you are making a slow very accurate shot, non illuminated takes awhile. Illumination on, it acts somewhat like a red dot specially if at low magnification and close; 100 yards the 3/4 halo will border a 6" bulls eye at 8X. There is a slight offset between black and illumination which I find annoying. Brightness of illumination on a sunny day Bright Surface almost non existent. Intensity knob nice to have off between settings but detent is weak and recoil has caused bump to off position (this a gasser with a really good break). Glass clarity is no better than an average "cheap" scope. It bugs me the 0 (zero) reference mark on tube for elevation is significantly "off center". If could have a do over ... I would spend this kind of money for lesser magnification but better quality of lens and features, a reticle I can reference quicker (better able to find the center and at the same time illuminated option - like others of different manufacturers I have.
